Botanic Gardens Wetland Aquifer Recharge Project
Client: Department for Environment, Water and Natural Resources
Location: Adelaide
Value: $12m
Date Completed: 2015
Scope of Services: Project Management Services
Brief Overview
Located in the Botanic Gardens near Hackney Road, the First Creek Wetland is an interactive constructed wetland ecosystem and plays an integral part in the stormwater recycling scheme to supply the garden’s irrigation requirements. This will drought proof the gardens and minimise the risk of losing iconic trees during periods of drought.
Key Achievements
The project was a complex civil project with ponds and concrete amphitheatre. We had to deal with EOT’s design & weather, and issue Show Cause notices.
We needed to resolve disputes in relation to clay liner ponds leaking and manage a process of elimination to manage the design vs construction.
